In his lifetime, Chief Moshood Abiola held 164 traditional titles across the geopolitical zones of Nigeria. He was the Ààrẹ Ọna Kakanfo of Yorubaland
& Basorun of Ibadan. The former was conferred on him by Alaafin Adeyemi III while the latter was conferred by Olubadan Asanike.
Araba Ifayemi Elebuibon, a performing artist, playwright and Ifa priest produced a traditional morality drama, "Ifa Olokun Asorodayo" which was aired by the Nigerian Television Authority in the 1980s.
Ojo was consequently directed to send the beads and other paraphernalia of office to Latoosa.
While Latoosa made history as the first man to rule Ibadan and hold the Ààrẹ Ọna Kakanfo title, Ojo Aburumaku made history as the first and only Kakanfo to know his successor.
3rd October, 1871- Momodu Obadoke Iyanda Latoosa was installed as the Baalẹ of Ibadan and Ààrẹ Ọna Kakanfo of Yorubaland.
Not minding that Ojo Aburumaku of Ogbomoso the then Kakanfo was alive and well, Latoosa requested to be installed by the Alaafin!,
Alaafin Amuniwaye's main medicine man found out that the king was having an affair with his wife. He sought revenge by administering a charm that kept them glued after intercourse. That was what ended the reign.
Ogedengbe's old colleagues went through Latoosa who headed Ogunmola's army then to plead for his life. The Baṣorun granted his release but ordered that his face should be disfigured with tribal marks.
For joining his Ìjèṣa compatriots to fight against Ibadan his adopted home, when Ogedengbe was captured, Ogunmola the Baṣorun ordered that he (Ogedengbe) should be executed.
When Ogedengbe (who later became famous as an Ìjèṣa warrior) came to Ibadan, he was placed under Bada Akii Kọọ, a renowned warrior under whom he learnt the art of war.
This monument was erected in front of Ibadan House, Oke Ààrẹ, Ibadan as a reminder of the treaty signed at the end of the Kiriji War that had Ibadan on one side and a coalition of Ekiti Forces on the other.
The war went on for 15 years, 277 days (July, 1877 - to March,1893)
