KYPA Member Hon. Miraj Abdillahi At the IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians in Samarkand, Uzbekistan .Thank you, Chairperson. Absolutely, one message has emerged clearly: young people must never become collateral damage in conflict or an afterthought in peace. For me, this commitment is also personal. In the Kenyan Parliament, I sponsored the Care and Protection of Child Parents Bill, which has passed the Senate and is now before the National Assembly. It seeks to protect young parents, particularly girls, from stigma and exclusion while safeguarding their dignity, education, healthcare and opportunity to rebuild their lives. The bill is founded on a simple conviction: pregnancy, vulnerability, or crisis must never become a permanent sentence against a young person's future. We must now translate our international commitment into legislations, adequate budgets, and effective parliamentary oversight. Let us return to our parliaments determined to guarantee that there is no peace processes without young people, no security policy without human rights safeguards, and no recovery program that abandons their education, dignity, and livelihoods. Young people should not merely inherit the peace negotiated by others. They must be equal partners in building and sustaining it. Thank you.

He urges the young generation and artists to remain strong and hopeful despite the challenges they face in life. Difficult seasons do not define your future. Even when circumstances feel overwhelming, never lose hope sometimes the moment you feel like giving up can be the moment before a breakthrough.
Hon. Babu Owino encourages young people and artists not to take their own lives because of life’s circumstances or challenges. Seek support, speak to someone you trust, keep believing, and remember that you are not alone. Your life has value, and there is always hope for a better tomorrow
