Today I'll give a few examples of the corruption I witnessed. The Sunday Times killed a two page story about Cameron's involvement in covering up HSBC fraud. Shortly after, the editor Camilla Cavendish was given a job at No10 followed by a peerage.

Twice I reported HSBC fraud to City of London Police and dealt with David Manley, the Chief Inspector in charge of fraud. He refused to investigate both times. He then left the police for a job at HSBC.

В пятом классе, как раз после началки, в нашу школу пришел новый физрук: седой, подтянутый, амбициозный. Он построил всех в линейку и гаркнул: «спортсмены-разрядники есть? поднимите руку!». Я робко поднял, единственный. Он недоверчиво осмотрел линейку (я бы по росту самый маленький и стоял последним), и уточнил: «это по какому виду спорта?». «По шахматам», — пропищал я.

(Получилось удачно: Борис Карпович был не только мастером спорта и заслуженным тренером по фехтованию, но и большим любителем шахмат: мы с ним провели много часов, гоняя блиц в тренерской, и у меня всегда была совершенно незаслуженно высокая оценка по физкультуре).

Я это к чему: тут у нас нынче благотворительный марафон в поддержку политзаключенных и все придумывают какие-то классные активности, в том числе спортивные. И когда я вежливо сказал коллегам, что к забегу не очень готов, то добрые коллеги предложили мне откупиться шахматным стримом.

Мы уже делали шахматные стримы в поддержку политзеков, играя онлайн с Сергеем Смирновым и Максимом Резником, настало время расширить и демократизировать формат.

Правила простые.
1. Отправляете донат в пользу политзеков на сайте марафона (https://t.co/wbWa8jSpQu). Минимум 20 евро, можно больше.
2. Регистрируетесь: присылаете квитанцию о донате в телеграм https://t.co/v6ggxXXtdM и сообщаете свой ник на чесскоме (chess dot com) — если нет, то надо создать — и как вас зовут. Если хотите, можете немного рассказать о себе, и о чем бы вы хотели поговорить в эфире (а если предпочитаете не говорить, тоже скажите об этом).
3. В среду 10 июня в 20.00 по московскому времени начинаем трансляцию. Я буду вам присылать вызовы через чесском, режиссер будет вас подключать к стриму, и поехали: играем и болтаем на любые темы (или не болтаем, а просто играем). И делаем при этом доброе дело.

Пока я думаю, что контроль мы поставим расслабленный, типа 5+3, чтобы не торопиться, ну а если желающих будет много, то ускорим. (А если, наоборот, мало, то сыграем по несколько партий).

Мы хотим сейчас понять, сколько будет игроков, с каким контролем времени играть, сколько по времени стрим планировать, поэтому регистрируйтесь прямо сейчас, не откладывайте!

The Irish Government seems uninterested in testing that claim.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the extraordinary outbursts of the President of the United States against female journalists... well, actually against journalists in general and journalism. But it feels like he saves his most childlike behavior and irrational language for female reporters, calling them all kinds of names that kids in kindergarten are given times out for. It’s stunning to me to witness such behavior from any leader, any CEO, any person of influence or importance. I’ve never witnessed someone like this raging, this weekend with @meetthepress host @kwelkernbc, just last week in the Oval Office with @cnn’s @kaitlancollins, calling women stupid or piggy, telling them to “smile”, calling them darling, demeaning their credibility. Every good man should denounce this behavior. Every person should be able to stand up for their colleagues and say “No more.”

Imagine this man screaming like this at your daughter, your wife, your sister, your mother... would you stand for it? No, you wouldn’t! And neither should any of us. It’s unacceptable and undignified. Period. End of story.
