After nearly 15 years in politics, I’m excited to be building Churchill Sinclair with my friend and partner Jordan Sinclair. Helping clients navigate government, communications, and public affairs. https://t.co/wAWcapIHRR
Good to be in Fredericton this week for New Brunswick’s State of the Province. Premier Susan Holt delivered a candid address, highlighting both progress and challenges, and recognizing the strength of her team. A refreshing display of honesty and leadership.
It’s been inspiring to see the leadership our Prime Minister has demonstrated in recent weeks. The guy is displaying real courage and statesmanship at a time when the world needs it. It’s also good to see Donald Trump blink when people stand up to him.
@MarkJCarney I for one and proud to have a Prime Minister that is standing up for the ideals and systems that have built prosperity and security for our country and standing up to the coercive and tyrannical pressures being by exerted by the US administration.
As great powers abandon rules and values for their own interests, middle powers like Canada have a choice: compete with each other for favour or act together with impact.
Three moderate Conservatives have now left Pierre Poilievre’s caucus. Matt Jeneroux resigned, while Chris D’Entremont, my MP, and Michael Ma crossed the floor to the governing Libs A clear shift toward pragmatic economics and away from right-wing populism. Merry X-Mas.
There are valid questions and feelings on Chris d’Entremont’s floor crossing. I experienced it twice when I led the NS Libs. Here’s why I still think it’s important that elected representatives can cross, even when our team was hurt by it when it happened to us.
Chris d’Entremont and I have known each other for over 16 years. Campaigned against each other, debated one another, but have always maintained a friendship. I’m also his constituent. Here are my thoughts on his floor crossing:
While I’m stepping back, I’ll always be cheering for our party, our province, and the amazing people who live here.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Over the past two weeks, I’ve had time to reflect on the election outcome and what it means for our party and for me personally.
First, thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind words of support and encouragement. It means so much to me and my family.
I don’t know what my future holds, but I’m looking forward to spending more time at home with my wife Katie and our family. To my two beautiful daughters, Cecelia and Eva, daddy is so excited to be home more with you girls!
It’s not the result we hoped for, but I’m proud to have run on a strong platform with an incredible team of candidates. It’s been the honour of my life to represent the people of Yarmouth and to have had a positive impact on our community and the province. For that, I’m grateful.
Polls are now closed! To our incredible team of candidates, volunteers, and staff: Thank you. No matter what happens tonight, you all should be incredibly proud. You stood up for your communities, gave it your all, and it has been an honour to campaign with you.
