Kennedy acknowledges “a lot of people believe that” but points out that “Hamas attacked Israel.”

Theo then reads the death toll of Palestinian children since October 7.

Kennedy fires back and says there’s a problem with his source:

THEO: “It feels like [Israel] are the bullies of the area. It feels like they’re the terrorist organization.”

KENNEDY: “A lot of people believe that. Hamas attacked Israel and the Israelis fight back, and they took over the Gaza Strip. And yes, a lot of Palestinians got hurt.”

KENNEDY: “Got killed and hurt. But Hamas would hold the Gazans hostage. They would put them out front.”

THEO: “But how do we even know that? They killed 220-something journalists that went there to document what was going on.”

KENNEDY: “There’s no question there’s been civilian deaths.”

THEO: “They wouldn’t let journalists in to even document what was happening there.”

KENNEDY: “There have been civilian deaths, but it is primarily the fault—I’m not saying Israel is blameless. Look, war is ugly.”

THEO: “But is this war?”

KENNEDY: “It is war.”

THEO: “You think it’s war? They just had an article yesterday that came out from the UN… Here are some findings of the commission. Israel has killed 20,000 children and injured 44,000 more since October 7, 2023. Palestinian children have been arrested and subjected to torture and other severe forms of mistreatment in Israeli prisons. This is all part of… United Nations.”

KENNEDY: “Well, first, I wouldn’t believe it if it came from the UN.”

THEO: “Oh, really? Do you feel like they’re not reliable?”

KENNEDY: “They’re not reliable. They’re not objective. And I know children got killed, and it breaks your heart. Hamas kills children, too. So does Hezbollah. So does Iran.”

Here is a full breakdown of Theo Von, Joe Rogan Saga.

It arguably all started here. Fans expressed concern about Theo Von after he was caught on camera making a troubling comment to fans following the taping of his Netflix comedy special at New York City’s Beacon Theatre on September 27, 2025, saying “I’m having a long month. I’m trying not to take my own life.” The taping itself was also widely reported to have not gone well. Von later addressed it on his own podcast, admitting he realized he was “off” that night and struggled to remember some of his material but he firmly clarified he would “never” consider taking his own life.

On April 2, 2026, Theo Von appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience. The episode became a flashpoint. Von and Rogan spoke at length about politics and current events. Von shared concerns, saying things like “Everybody is scared out of their wits right now” and “Satan is amongst us and our religious leaders are talking about b*******.” He also made pointed comments about Israel and U.S. military spending, which wasn’t the first time a 2025 video of him calling the situation in Gaza a “genocide” and saying the U.S. is “complicit” had already gone viral. Rogan’s response to the “Satan is amongst us” remark became the most controversial moment: Rogan replied, “We’ve got to get you off those antidepressants, son,” prompting significant backlash online from people who thought it was irresponsible to weigh in on someone’s medication.

Many online defended Theo, with one post going viral saying “He’s not going crazy. This is how a lot of people feel.”
Theo responded on X, saying people were taking things out of context and that “Joe has been supportive on and off mic about my well-being, like any friend would.”

On May 14, 2026, a clip from a newer Joe Rogan Experience episode went viral in which Rogan said Von’s situation “freaks him out,” referencing the Netflix taping and Von’s overall emotional state. Rogan said he has been sending Von material about people getting off SSRIs, and claimed “Here’s the thing about that chemical imbalance thing: that’s not real” — a statement that drew medical pushback, as SSRIs have been studied in hundreds of clinical trials.
Theo fired back: “This is mostly cap. Sad to see this kinda stuff. I’m doing great. I’m a human being, which is a rocky ride. But I’m doing fine, thanks.”
The situation also drew in Dan Bilzerian, who called Rogan “a disloyal backstabbing” person for airing this publicly, saying “All because Theo had the courage to speak up.”
