Few people feel appreciated in their relationships.
Partners stop saying “I love doing life with you” or “I appreciate x about you.” If we don’t get that acknowledgment at home, the relationship will eventually suffer.
Appreciation is the love language of long-term partnership.
We repeat our normal.
When you grow up with fighting and dysfunction as your normal— of course you’ll end up toxic relationships.
You seek the rejection, the conflict, and the confrontation because it feels like love.
You expect the stress hormones.
Give yourself patience as you settle into the “boredom” of safe relationships.
Emotionally immature parents do not apologize to their children.
They move on as if nothing has happened because they view apologizing as shameful. Or a weakness.
Apologizing is accountability. It shows we own our issues and care enough to do better.
her brother beat her for making a tiktok video without her hijab. muslims in her comments are LAUGHING at her and CHEERING him on. PLEASE SPREAD THIS !!!!
“I’m sober and I cannot be around people drinking so I don’t want to go to the bar with you. Go have fun.”
“I’m scared of roller coasters so I won’t go on them, if you want to ride them, have fun.”
“This conversation is hurting my feelings. I need a break.”
If u wanna date somebody who has no social media and wears long sleeves and long skirts then don’t seek out somebody entirely different & slowly change them while saying they’re not relationship material and using therapy speak about ur boundaries being their clothing lol
People calling this “boundaries” are misusing the term and failing to recognize controlling, abusive behavior. Boundaries are things you set for YOURSELF. Example: “Being around alcohol violates my boundaries, so I will leave this party.” You cannot control other people.
