Look what just landed on my desk. I wish I'd have access to these rich insights prior to presenting my #SACOMM2022 paper. BigTech: meanings and contradictions in Media Studies curricula. Thanks @zubeidajaffer & Number10 publishers.
Congratulations, @zubeidajaffer on being named one of the recipients of honorary doctorates to be conferred by @StellenboschUni early December. (Picture: UCT)
Did you know that in 1938 in Bloemfontein she delivered her most famous speech "This work is not for yourselves. Kill that spirit of self and do not live above your people, but live with them. If you can rise, bring someone with you."

It may be brave to see Volodymyr Zelenskyy fight to defend Ukraine, however, sending his people to the slaughter instead of choosing a political solution is immoral.
We are watching a tragedy unfold.
We have a uni-polar narrative that is often not credible.
Both the NATO countries and Russia have much to answer for.
I am appalled that both sides encourage war, when political solutions are possible.
My experience with journalism lately, is that there is little nuanced writing and it seems like journalists apply a shifting standard depending on the context. Journalists must provide (accurate) facts in order for the public to be able to come to their own conclusions.
