Man I’ll never understand people using AI for everything in their personal life. Especially therapy, medical issues and mental health. It’s bad enough this highly personal info is owned by someone. It’ll be used to push products on you
Aaaand the morning starts with a 25% layoff. I still got the job but man would I be so pissed if they laid me off after I turned down a fat offer in another company
I know a guy who once used his 15y of experience as an argument to win a code related disagreement with me. Anyway he has a tendency for poor infra design that he takes and runs with. Only to hit a wall at some point and call a team meeting where he’s humbled into a rewrite
Not only did he not win that argument with me but he had to apologize afterwards. Lesson to everyone who thinks the number of years says something about their expertise
Suddenly realized that I’ve developed some sort of intuition when it comes to Go development and design decisions in general. Just get a feeling that navigates me through a ton of alternatives without explicit reasoning
Also this same dude with his 10 years of DB experience recently caused an incident by querying a DB from within a transaction causing the connection pool exhaustion and a deadlock.
Meanwhile this rule is literally in the first official Go tutorial on transactions
Maybe I have issues but I just cant take it seriously if someone says that they know best cause of <insert number of years> in industry. Dude if you have to shove your experience in number of years before you tell me how to do things, it just doesnt sound convincing at all
