@DaveBlundin Is this the "cypherpunk" moment for AI enthusiasts in the West where finally those with the means and intelligence realize the necessity for frontier adjacent open source models?
If not "permissioned access" to intelligence will become standard and then we're cooked.
@adamemedia1 I was about to say your post was a bad take. Chinese models are about 6-8 months behind SOTA models. I fully expect there will be open source fable models in the next 6-9 months.
After using Fable, if open source can get to that level, no need for much else imo
@mattshumer_ agree with the overall point. going back to Opus and wasting time with extra iterations that Fable would often get in one shot is so unappealing, I can't even continue work on my project.
@AlexFinn after working with Fable 5, local models don't hold a candle to it. If local models can get to Fable 5 level, I'd switch to fully local in a heartbeat
