@enchanted1966@virginmedia You can cancel for free until 30/10/23. Worth checking if other providers are in your area which do FTTP like CityFibre, YouFibre, HyperOptic, etc. Much better than Virgin FTTC
@martinvillan@virginmedia Honestly, that’s expensive. I’m paying £32 for the same thing (1gig on its own, nothing else). You’d be better trying to move if other providers are in your area. Check CityFibre, YouFibre, HyperOptic to name a few. Most ISPs on CityFibre currently offering 1GBPS FTTP for <£45
@child_gavin@virginmedia Most run on the same network (OpenReach) so speeds will be the same but prices and support experience will vary. Virgin has their own network. There are new FTTP providers popping up depending on your area. Checkout YouFibre, HyperOptic, CityFibre to name a few
@mtd241983@virginmedia Last time I cancelled via their online chat/WhatsApp. Obviously their retentions/cancellation team offered me a good price then but that ain’t gonna keep me now
.@CityFibre time for you to do some heavy marketing. @virginmedia is changing their contracts to allow them prices rises of 4%+ every April. Expect lots of people to cancel before 31/10/2023 and want a new service provider!
@1AllisonP @CityFibre@Trustpilot Call them and ask what’s happening. It took over a year for my area to be able to connect. When I called them back then they said they were waiting for ISPs to take on the area or something
@drowso@CityFibre@Trustpilot Report it to your council. Would also recommend calling city fibre as their online communication is woeful compared to their phone support. You can record the conversation still
@lordrosey@CityFibre Would recommend you call city fibre (don’t bother with their online form) and also call your council to report it. All road works have to be approved by the council I believe
