The culture allowed J Cole to take 10 years to work on The Fall-Off. It’s not the cultures fault you changed to album or never really had a great album to begin with.
When the culture was kissing his ass, Cole was humble. But now he’s jealous and bitter.
Jermaine, the culture’ isn’t a buzzword just because you’ve decided to flatten it into one. It’s history, influence, community, and lived experience, things that don’t suddenly lose meaning because they’re no longer convenient for you to center yourself in them. If it feels empty to you now, maybe it’s not the culture that changed. Or maybe, just maybe, you were never really grounded in the culture to begin with.
So…what exactly are we calling this?
