Western CO’s Drew Nash continued his impressive start to the season, leading the Mountaineers to a 26-17 win over West Texas A&M last Saturday.
🏈 While Nash completed 50% of his pass attempts, going 13 for 26, for 185 yards, he was equally impressive on the ground, as he ran the ball 16 times for 133 yards and 3 TDs!!!
🏈 Braeden Hogan also took on a significant amount of the offensive load as he carried the ball 20 times for 101 yards and caught 2 passes for another 47 yards.
On defense, the Mountaineers were led by:
🏈 Freshman LB Cameron Cooper, who had 6 Tackles (2 Solo & 4 Ast), including 1/2 a tackle for a loss. He also had the play of the game with a 96 yard PICK SIX!!!
🏈 Cy Shope, who had 7 Tackles (3 Solo & 4 Ast); &
🏈 Ricky Freymond, who had 5 Tackles (3 Solo & 2 Ast) and a forced fumble.
Watching Nash’s highlights the 1st two weeks of the season, I’m dying to know his 40 time as no one is catching up to him when he gets in space.
Here are a few of Western CO’s highlights from Saturday’s game:
