I am honoured to succeed Senator Udoma as Chairman in January 2027 and to lead the Board through @SeplatEnergy ’s next phase of growth.
I firmly believe in the critical role indigenous resources play in the economic transformation of Nigeria and Africa, and Seplat’s culture of execution and governance aligns strongly with my own values.
I thank Senator Udoma and Roger for their stewardship and look forward to delivering further value for shareholders.
I also congratulate Mr. Okon on his appointment as Chief Executive Officer.
His deep industry experience gives me great confidence that @SeplatEnergy is well positioned for its next chapter of growth.

I spent 8 years at a company. Gave it the best years of my working life. Believed in the mission. Defended it to friends who asked why I stayed. Turned down offers. Skipped holidays. Answered emails on weekends. When they finally let me go the meeting was 11 minutes long. My manager read from a script. HR was on the call. My access was revoked before I had closed my laptop. 8 years. 11 minutes. I sat in my car for a long time after that. Not because I was devastated. But because I finally understood what the company had always known and I had refused to see. It was never mutual. It was never a family. It was always just business. I just wish someone had told me sooner so I could have treated it the same way.
People who do GRWM to work have TIME, Real time. Every time I wake up for work, I have less than 30 mins to be ready, and every second is accounted for. The day I add "good morning guys" to my morning routine is the day I'm officially unemployed.
Yesterday, I made history as the first Ijebu man to ever ride a bicycle to celebrate Ojude Oba #ojudeoba2026, it was my debut. Riding 100km from my home town ABIGI in Ogun Waterside, down to Ojude Oba In ijebu ode.

I once had a team lead who, after getting bashed in management meetings, would return the same energy to the team. The office atmosphere would instantly become tense. Attrition rate became high.
Then I worked with another one. After tough management sessions, he would come back asking:
“What can we change?”
“Which strategy are we missing?”
“How do we improve the numbers?”
Same pressure.
Different response.
Each time he speaks with us performance always get better. Colleagues were more motivated, morale was higher, and team members pushed themselves because they felt supported, not attacked.
I learned that people can handle targets and pressure. What really affects performance is the attitude of leadership during difficult moments.
This APC primaries should have been next month. The timing is so wrong tbh. How do you ask for Sallah ram now from someone that was beaten blue black on the field? Ehn.

- Tolu stole N5,000 from her parents but she couldn’t just start spending it freely in school without teachers or classmates asking where she got the money from.
- So, on her way to school she bought pens and started selling them to her classmates.
- Now, the money appears legitimate because everyone believes Tolu is making money from selling pens. She can now buy food and snacks without suspicion.
