They come into power, secure generational wealth, place all their children abroad in better societies, get so detached from the struggles of the average Ghanaian and boys still want to address them “with all due respect” go to hell man.
This didn’t even cost $63m
Ghana's total budgeted expenditure for hosting the 13th African Games was $245 million.
Our budget can build 4 of these hospitals.
All of this is a distraction. Ghana is facing far more urgent and pressing challenges that affect the daily lives of millions of citizens. We are dealing with poor roads, illegal mining (galamsey), recurring floods, corruption, pedophilia, sexual violence, the destruction of our environment etc.
Many people will say, “We can tackle multiple issues at once.” While that may be true in principle, the question is one of priorities. What we are choosing to focus on does not address the struggles the average Ghanaian faces every day.
We want to see this government take decisive and proactive action where it matters most like officials implicated in enabling galamsey removed from office and held accountable.
Our resources should be directed toward solving the crises that are actively harming citizens. Ghanaians deserve to see progress on the issues that directly affect our livelihood. There’s still a DCE who was exposed by Joynews for enabling illegal mining in his district that is still in office btw #StopGalamseyNow
During these times no student should be punished for showing up to school late the following day because you never know how they managed to get dry clothes to come to school
You’re stuck in traffic, your area is flooded and you’re getting home past 9 pm on a work night but you also believe we should speak politely to politicians because they are older people in authority. Haha
people lost their lives as a result of disaster 11 years ago. over a decade we can’t find a solution to these things. as a country, we have failed living, the dɛad, and the next generation.
Someone’s actions and inactions are directly impacting your life. You’re pushing 30, 40, 50 with nothing to show for. You’re in a country that doesn’t reward hard work. Immigration is tight so you can’t leave. But sure let’s “respect our elders”. You people are not ready.
You can do quite literally anything you want in Accra if you have the money to pay the right person. That’s just the fact. If you want to build on a water way today, you can just pay and get it done. That’s how it’s been for years. Nobody’s enforcing anything.
it’s really embarrassing that a country largely spared from major natural disasters persistently struggles with the issue of flooding when much of it is preventable
The rain you see in Ghana isn’t anything extra. You’re not remotely close to an actual natural disaster. None of your problems are complex. You’re dealing with issues other countries have solved a century ago. The blueprint is there. Don’t let Mahama sweet talk you.
