The ONLY way your people you can save your people from turning to roadkill or prevent your God-given resources from being plundered is by having a strong, autocratic government that serves the interests of the people.

No bullshit legislature 99% of whom have stolen wealth stashed in western banks. Children in Western schools. And cabinets of dirt and blackmail in Western intelligence agencies.

Electoral democracy as a developing nation is lunacy. It a disease. It will lead us nowhere.

What we need is a Nigerian version of the CPC with equal, fair representation of our ethnic and religious composition.

We don't need bullshit democracy where all progress is in 4year start and stop cycles.

And where the stupid electoral democracy is nothing but a thumb printing exercise where the winner has long since been decided in Washington, Tel Aviv and London.

The unfortunate and dishonourable drama witnessed in Ibom Air has again brought to the fore the double standards in our lives and the inadequacies of our various security operatives in acting decently and in a civilised manner.

I want to start by sincerely apologising to the Ibom Air crew who were assaulted by Miss Comfort Emmanson. We must, as a society, learn and uphold good conduct, as it is a true measure of success and decent living.

However, I must equally strongly condemn the dehumanising treatment meted out to this young woman. Stripping her publicly was not only unnecessary but also represents the height of rascality and abuse by our agencies. It is unacceptable that she was hurriedly taken to court and remanded, while someone who visibly held a plane from taking off and put hundreds of lives at risk is still at large, with government agencies and some state officials speaking up for him to be forgiven.

This case is not just about one young woman, it is about the double standards that poison our justice system. Justice in Nigeria must never be about who is poor or powerless versus who has influence or access to government officials.

While Ms. Comfort Emmanson is in jail, the other offender who committed a more severe offence has not been held to the same standard. He has neither been arrested nor arraigned in any court.

We must build a country where justice is fair, equal, and not selective, especially against women who are seen to be weaker. This young lady’s offence does not compare to the crimes committed daily by those parading themselves as “excellencies” while looting public funds without consequence, and yet they have not been stripped or dehumanised in the name of justice.

We must end this selective treatment of the poor or less privileged. If justice must be served, it should be served to all, and it must be served fairly. The Minister of Aviation and other relevant authorities owe the public an explanation for these double standards in their adjudication.
Justice must be just, or it is nothing at all.

The rule of law based on justice for all must remain the guidepost of our democracy.

Forcing Shariah law on non-Muslims in a state where there’s a clear population of indigenous citizens who don’t subscribe to Islam is nothing short of religious bullying. You can keep justifying it with sentiments, but it still doesn’t make sense. If I don’t believe in the law of a religion, why should I be bound by it?

Now flip it, imagine a minority Christian becomes governor in that same state and starts enforcing Biblical laws across board. Will Muslims in that state quietly accept it?

Shariah law should be for Muslims and Muslims only. Anything else is compulsion, not conviction. Simple.

This video triggers me a lot. Every time I see it on my TL. I’m triggered and angry because I had the same experience in 2000. 25 years later, it’s still happening. I wrote my SSCE in 2000. Cleared all subjects, but then the English result was cancelled. In those days, nothing like social media to rant and hold WAEC accountable, so anything you saw, you took it like that. With English canceled, I looked forward to the GCE I had registered for, knowing I just needed to focus on that English. I prepped for it like my whole life depended on it. My Centre: Community Grammar School, Ayobo, Ipaja. I remember these things because, as a kid, that event took a toll on me.

The day we wrote English, the Essay was in the morning, while the objective was supposed to be in the afternoon. The morning papers went smoothly until it was time to write the objective in the afternoon, the WAEC rep didn’t show up until around 7 pm. They locked the gate so no one could go out. When he eventually came, we were told to go out and get candles before the exam could start. Come back in 10 mins!

17-year-old me was running around Ayobo to buy candles to write the SSCE in an area I didn’t know at almost 8 pm. I won’t talk about how the people selling candles hiked the prices immediately. Candidates were buying candles and cutting them in half. Some folks submitted the answer sheet with candle wax everywhere.
