Misogyny is rampant of course but man every now and again you see a dude who's just really fucking hates women and makes it clear. People are alot more conscious nowadays with their racism but misogynists are still oblivious to how they sound it seems, shows how normalized it is.
@Ngannoumedov3 I see where you're coming from. 'Greatest athlete' for me is too broad a term to only talk about ability/sporting career. But if we are only talking about those things then yes. I don't even have Ali as a boxing goat tbf, although he's got a case and is by far goat HW.
goat athlete depends on criteria. just about sporting performance? you can't put anyone over bradman, phelps, karelin, Gretzky... They were as good as humanly possible lol
But if you (like me) consider all factors, external too. It's by a mile Ali and it will never be close
@Ngannoumedov3 As for skill level. It's literally impossible to say anyone "clears" the likes of Gretzky, bradman, phelps and co. They couldn't have possibly been/done better at their sport. Saying Messi surpassed that tier of athletes in 2011 is delusional.
@Ngannoumedov3 The term Greatest athlete ever means more. It's anti-climactic to say it's only about skill. Influence is important in this regard. Ali was the only goat level athlete who genuinely changed the world. Not even close for me. He's in convo for 20th century goat human ffs.
still can't wrap my head around how Messi delivered his best ever career tournament at 39. this lowkey better then any of his ucl campaigns too. he's been a monster in EVERY SINGLE GAME. not even prime messi was doing this. just makes no sense.
@ThisIsNotDSP@MchaelSNM1 Teams have too much respect for them because of their name. It's like in MMA when guys hurt strikers on the feet and then kill all momentum by wrestling and it costs them (think Glover-Jiri, Gastelum-Izzy). Momentum is everything in sport and to kill it urself is suicide.
@FritzGschweidl Talking about "conditions" is very a thin line. Maradona had to deal with the greatest CDM ever man marking him for the entire game in the final. Pele & Messi never had that level of opposition. Matthaus literally threw his own game just so he could keep Diego quiet.
@FritzGschweidl Ehhh the age thing goes both ways too though. Messi could never dream of doing it at 17 like Pele. Maradona lowkey also could've done it at 17 if the stupid coach picked him for the 1978 world cup.
@MchaelSNM1 lol one thing i will say, there's all this talk about the 'conditions', but the fact teams are parking the bus against him after scoring is massively favourable conditions for him. they are the exact games he feasts on. he was a ghost in most these games prior to it.
