Rick can build a portal gun and travel across dimensions but somehow being a normal grandfather for five minutes is where he draws the line 😭

Most episodes start with Rick dragging Morty into what he describes as a simple adventure. Next thing you know they’ve destroyed a civilisation, offended an alien species or accidentally created a problem involving the entire universe.

That’s what makes Rick and Morty work for me. Under all the sci-fi madness and ridiculous jokes there are actually some dark ideas about family, loneliness and whether anything really matters when infinite versions of everybody exist.

And poor Morty has seen enough things to require therapy across several dimensions 😂

I’m giving the series an 8.5/10.

Rewatch value: Definitely.
