Just submitted my 100-word story for the #MicroFictionChallenge100!

My group was assigned to write a romance (genre) that included making tea (action) and the word “turn.”

I took a risk and hope it pays off.

With 59 writers per group, the top 15 to advance to Round 2. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Uploaded my Rd 2 submission for @nycmidnight’s #ShortStoryChallenge2024! By this time for Rd 1, I hadn’t even started writing yet. 🤣

I hope the judges enjoy my 2,000-word romantic comedy (genre) about a getaway (subject) with a bookworm (character).

Capturing my entire story wasn’t possible with the word limit & the fact I started 3.5 hours ago, but I’m decently content.

Not really a crime caper. I’ll probs get DQed, but at least I didn’t give up.

My last-minute crime caper that I almost gave up on and didn’t submit earned second place in my group during Round 1 of NYC Midnight’s #shortstorychallenge2024.

What a lesson about just going for it and throwing your hat in the ring no matter what because anything can happen.
