Is there a “shorter” way to earn a doctorate after earning an M.S.Ed and Ed.S? Or will I need to do 3-4 more years + a dissertation (currently conducting a thesis for my Ed.S)? I think I should have gone for the doctoral degree initially… but also finances 😮💨😅
Any tips for a grad student to be able to afford all the expenses that come with traveling to conventions/conferences??? I really want to attend the NASP annual convention and the Black School Psych Summit this upcoming year. But when you add everything up 😮💨
Cannot believe as of the 7th, I’ve finished my first year of grad school, got my Master’s degree, and am about to embark on year two into my Specialists degree. I am the first one in my immediate family to get this far. I will definitely pat myself on the back for this 👩🏾🎓✨

I’m frequently feeling “lost” navigating grad school and my soon to be profession. I think because my undergrad didn’t align with school psychology, I feel the need to over compensate and do more than I know how to. I’m enjoying my classes but I still feel behind…
I need to do more. I need my ears and eyes on larger conversations. More intricate, deeper conversations that lead to..some form of change for something. I won’t be able to add to those conversations yet (still have a lot to learn) but listening may help organize my ambitions..

This was the first BSP Student Support session I attended (due to conflicting timing with my classes and being scared/intimidated to interact due to shyness 😬) and let me tell you— I’m so glad I overcame that fear! I really enjoyed the wonderful energy and conversation🤎🖤
