Kenya's government says it cancelled the French-backed Rironi–Mau Summit toll road deal, which would have required taxpayers to pay about KSh299 billion over 13 years, and instead opted for a privately financed project led by Chinese firms.
Under the previous proposal, the government would have paid around KSh23 billion annually for 13 years and covered any future toll revenue shortfalls.
Under the new arrangement, private investors will bear the traffic and revenue risks, recovering their investment through toll collections.
by 2032 all roads and railways in Kenya will be tolled by china and we shall have to live and travel like tenants in our own country.
