Shown here are some of the Retro Game Development kits I’ve covered on my channel over the years.

Some I have yet to tackle, and many more new acquisitions have been added into the arsenal. It’s going to be a fun summer.😎🤘#Nintendo #Atari #gamedev #n64 #gamecube #3DS #gameboy

@BoscoMac That’s awesome!🤘
Do tell…Which programming language did you use? And which API’s ?

Very cool stuff.
😎👌

@mov_axbx If you’re able to take photos of the clip as well, that would be good to have on file just for the archives.

I have not been able to find even a single decent photo of one of these clips online.😵‍💫

[BehindTheCode with Gerry @_BehindTheCode]

@mov_axbx Ohh wow!😮
that would be amazing.🤩🤘

To top it off…I found a TurboGrafx16 flash card with JJ & Jeff still loaded on it. 😄👌

@_BehindTheCode Yep, no prob whatsoever, very glad to do this. I have a few broken ones myself that I want to replace too.

In fact I'll give you a model, just give me a few days to get to drawing it up.

Dude!…… A Fellow #SGI ONYX owner.
Noice! 😎🤘

[Nathan Odle @mov_axbx]

For anyone wondering what machine all my MIPS R8000 LLM kernel optimization posts are about, it’s the one on the right.

SGI Power Challenge Deskside, maxed out:
6x 90MHz MIPS R8000 CPUS
2GB RAM

Maybe I will do a tour post soon and talk about the R8000.

[BehindTheCode with Gerry @_BehindTheCode]

@mov_axbx Hey chief,
I’m hoping you might be able to toss me some photos of the side panel support clips from your ONYX or from the Challenge? 🙏🤞🏻

The small plastic clips that hold the side panel skins.

I had all x24 that are issued with the Onyx Deskside model and ai had them in a ziplock when transporting it. The bag was lost in transit. So I’m hoping to possibly 3D Print some to replace them. (I think these clips are the same for both Onyx and Challenge.)

I’ve been trying to source replacement parts but as you can imagine, SGI Onyx parts are not easy to come by.

Any chance you could take some photos of one of the clips?
Front & back view with ruler 📏 for reference? 🙏🤞🏻

It would be awesome to potentially 3D print some replacements.😎👍

[BehindTheCode with Gerry @_BehindTheCode]

@308Greenfield You bet.👍
I’ve never had any issues with the 4 boards I got a, and they are still running just fine.
5 years and counting. So I think you’ll be good.😄👌

[BehindTheCode with Gerry @_BehindTheCode]

@palantirheart An old black top pushbutton. These were a “normally closed” pushbutton switch. The red top ones were “normally open”.😎👍
