Today during the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) meeting, we approved our officers' promotion exercise for 2025, amongst other critical issues as enumerated below.

1. Vacant Positions Filled: We've approved the immediate filling of vacant Deputy Controllers-General (DCG) and Assistant Controllers-General (ACG) positions across all 4 services. This opens up opportunities for officers currently on covering duties to participate in the next screening exam while ensuring federal character representation.

2. Handbook Development: The Board discussed the creation of a comprehensive handbook for all services, aiming to enhance standardization and efficiency.

3. 2025 Promotion Exercise: We announce the approval of the 2025 promotion exercise to provide a clear pathway for career advancement in fulfilment of the RenewedHope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).

Yesterday, in my office, I received on courtesy visit the top management team of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) led by the Director-General, Dr. Jobson Ewalefoh, discussing potential collaboration between ICRC and the Ministry of Interior, especially in leveraging Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) to drive innovation and project delivery.

As a strong advocate for PPPs, the Ministry of Interior, in the last one year, has utilized this framework to execute our projects.

The Ministry of Interior is committed to collaborating with ICRC to achieve President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s RenewedHope agenda, particularly in harnessing private sector funding to accelerate investment into other sustainable national infrastructure development.

Earlier today, I participated in the National Training on Combating Terrorism Financing organised by the Inter-Governmental Action Group Against Money Laundry in West Africa (GIABA).

In my speech, I shared some of our government’s strategies to stamping out terrorism and related crimes through but not limited to the continuous adaptation of technology to harmonise data of citizens as well as enhance our border security architecture.

I also shared success stories of how our gallant men in uniform have been able to nip recent incidents in the bud, demonstrating our capacity to track the trails of criminals even before they unleash mayhem.

Security, I believe, is the job of everyone, whether as a Nigerian, African, or a global citizen. For this reason, I implored participants, and by extension – Nigerians, to remain the eyes and ears of government, as a safe nation is a prosperous nation.

Today, in company of the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, I received Chief Davidson Chijioke Alaribe, Diamond President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), who led a distinguished delegation to seek partnership opportunities with the ministry.

We discussed various areas of interests including leveraging our strength(s) to build a robust system that will dignify our nation, as well as enhance operations of all agencies under our ministry.

In collaboration and strategic partnerships, I believe we can build stronger systems that will outlive the RenewedHope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).
