Yesterday, in the company of elder statesmen, Senator E. W. T. Diffa and Engr. Numoipre Wills, we visited the residence of the late Senator J. K. Brambaifa to condole with his wife, children, and the entire family.

On behalf of my family and the senatorial district, I expressed my condolences to the wife, the children, and the larger Brambaifa family, led by Professor Brambaifa, who received us alongside the wife and children.

I condole also with the Tarakiri Clan, the Agbere community and Bayelsa State in general.

The late Senator J. K. Brambaifa was an elder statesman and among the several offices he held in his lifetime, he represented Bayelsa West from 2003 to 2007. He served our people in various capacities and passed on while serving as Chairman, Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Bassambiri, in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. I recall that our last conversation, when he called, was about support for the university, a cause to which I remain fully committed, especially in matters concerning education.

I condole with the family and prayed that God would comfort them and all of us, granting them the fortitude to bear the loss, as we prepare to support and participate in the funeral whenever the family agrees on a date.

It has been a trying period for our people, and this was one of the few times I stepped out of my house since the passing of Dr. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo and unfortunately it was to pay another condolence visit. We pray that God will show mercy and grant his soul the eternal rest he deserves.
