NEW: Ben Stokes' future as England Test captain is in doubt after it was announced that he and Gus Atkinson are being investigated by the ECB for an undisclosed "incident" at a nightclub in the early hours of Monday morning.
It is understood neither Stokes nor Atkinson were hurt in the incident, which also involved players from Saracens rugby club as part of their end-of-season celebrations.
ESPNcricinfo understands the incident, described by the ECB as "a breach of team protocols", is serious enough for Stokes to be considering his position as captain.
Headbutts, spitting, diving, biting, crying, cheating and thieving... it’s all happened at some point in the past 96 years.
These are the World Cup’s maddest moments. In order of derangement.

@GraceOnFootball He’s not a secret genius he’s literally just fried a with Michael Edwards. He’s the dude who signed Brad Smith and Jordon Ibe for Bournemouth. He’s far from the messiah
Final ruined by Fletch and Ally. Summed up when they were begging for a check of VAR just in case. VAR needs to be chucked away not used for every fall
Is it games gone that Arsenal, chasing a goal, sub off their captain and best attacker? Cant imagine the golden generation of Man U, Chelsea or Liverpool doing this
It really isn’t. He obviously isn’t the right choice as he’s gone to that elephant graveyard on the Kings Road.
