It is because Trevor Noah’s father is white and not black. It is not only Ime Okon who is a victim of that stupidity. Even former Johannesburg mayor Jolidee Matongo was insulted by some black people because his father was Zimbabwean. Yet, like Trevor Noah, he was born to a South African mother and was born in South Africa.

Lack of quality education and critical thinking was a deliberate apartheid strategy designed to dehumanise black people. That damage did not suddenly disappear with democratic rule in 1994. Some of it remains deeply psychological and continues to manifest in how black people treat one another today.

When people attack fellow Africans or question someone’s identity because of their father’s nationality, while accepting others because of whiteness or class, that contradiction exposes a deeper problem. It is rooted in insecurity, conditioning, and self hate.

Billonaire businessman Chief Godwin Chinedu Adimike was reportedly murdered at his Number 3 Hassan Adamu street, Guzape Abuja by his 21 year old son, who is currently a service NYSC member, on Friday May 15 2026. He was stabbed multiple times by his son after a heated argument.
His son confronted him of being stingy with money, citing how some of his friends' fathers, who were not as wealthy, buy cars for their children.
The deceased on the other day, accused his son of being extravagant and mismanaging funds. Following the argument, his son stabbed him thrice, and he died at the spot.
It was reported that on this fate ful day, his son had returned from club with two ladies on. And he killed his father in their presence.
He's currently in police custody.
