@BradMBradford Talking to my mom over the weekend. I believe 500 Dawes Rd apartment is in your riding. If you are willing to neglect tenants complaints on that, you will ignore the rest of Toronto as well
@TTChelps Considering there is a major secondary school along the route and the current crowding on the bus, you might want to squeeze another Route 50 bus in around 7:45am - 8:10am
Statement from #TTC CEO Mandeep S. Lali on Line 2 Service Disruption
“This morning, we let our customers down. I am truly sorry.
We know many of you rely on TTC to get to work, school, and essential commitments. When we fall short, the impact is immediate and personal. I understand the frustration and disruption this has caused, especially at the start of the day when reliability matters most.
An issue during overnight track work led to a hydraulic fluid spill, preventing a safe and timely start to service between Kipling and Keele stations. Safety will always come first, but I recognize that this does not absolve us of the responsibility to provide the reliable service you expect.
Our teams are on site with urgency to address the spill, conduct thorough inspections, and restore service as quickly and safely as possible. More than 50 shuttle buses are in operation, complemented by additional travel options to support customers. Toronto Police traffic management, our Special Constables, Provincial Offences Officers, and extra station staff are deployed across affected locations to assist customers and manage flow. Multiple teams continue work on site to resolve the issue safely and efficiently.
I have ordered an immediate and comprehensive review to determine what happened, including equipment condition, planning, work practices, and oversight. We will identify the root causes and implement clear, corrective actions at pace. The goal is simple: this must not happen again.
To our customers: thank you for your patience and resilience.
To our employees: thank you for your professionalism, rapid response, and unwavering commitment to our customers.
We will do better. And we will do it together.”
