⭐️12⭐️サイマリの漫画化を目指し、まず何をすべきかを考えた。

最初にシナリオ作りから着手し、大まかな設定を固めたうえで、ストーリーを形にしてくれる人を探すこと��。求人サイトでも募集をかけ、多くの方と話をする機会を得た。幸運なことに、少年ジャンプでの連載経験があり、縦読み漫画でもヒットを飛ばしていた方が協力を申し出てくれ、いくつかのシナリオやキャラクターのアイデアが生まれ始めた。

しかし、ここで決定的な問題が浮き彫りになる。
シナリオやイラスト、漫画家からの提案をしっかりと判断できるだけの知識も経験も、自分たちにはまだ備わっていなかったのだ。

大きなことを成し遂げるには、大きなビジョンが必要なのは間違いない。しかし、それを実現するには、あまりにも専門的な判断力が不足していて、無謀すぎた――そう痛感することになる。

⭐️12⭐️To turn CyMari into a manga, we started by working on the story. After setting up the basic concept, we searched for someone who could bring it to life. Posting job listings led to many conversations, and luckily, a former Shonen Jump artist with experience in hit webcomics joined us. This sparked new ideas for characters and scenarios.

But then, we hit a major problem. We didn’t have the knowledge or experience to properly judge the scripts, artwork, or proposals.

A big vision is important, but without the right expertise, we were in over our heads. This was a tough realization.

⭐️11⭐️During my business trip to Japan in October, I met with CyMari's management team—a 3D animator, an illustrator, and a DJ.

I presented the project as a new income source for creators and shared a detailed background story over coffee in Shinjuku. CyMari are people awakened to love. I was excited about the idea of first creating a manga based on this story, with the hope of one day turning it into an anime.

⭐️11⭐️10月の日本出張では、サイマリの運営メンバーとなる3Dアニメーター、イラストレーター、DJの現メンバーと顔を合わせた。

私が用意した資料の表紙には「クリエイターの新たな収入源となり得る企画」と書かれていた。その裏では、膨大な量の設定を練り込み、新宿のスタバで一生懸命プレゼンした。「サイマリは愛に目覚めた奴らなんだ」と熱弁し、この設定に沿った漫画をまず���作し、ゆくゆくはアニメ化するのだと意気込んでいた。

⭐️10⭐️In fall 2023, we struggled to refine CyMari’s concept. Music licensing was our strength, but we realized relying too much on it could make us dependent on external factors, leading to inconsistency. To create a stronger foundation, we decided to build the project around storytelling, using anime and manga as the base, with characters and music woven into that world.

Just like YOASOBI uses novels, CyMari would have its own stories and characters, each expressing emotions through music within a manga and anime universe. That was our vision—or so we thought. But soon, this ambitious idea became a major challenge.

⭐️10⭐️2023年の秋は、サイマリのコンセプトを必死にひねり出していた時期だった。音楽ライセンシングは一つの強みではあるが、それだけでは他力本願になりがちで、コンセプトもぶれやすいことを肌で感じていた。そこで、より明確な軸を持たせるため、アニメや漫画といったストーリーを基盤に、キャラクターと音楽を展開していく方向性が会議で決まった。

要するに、YOASOBIに小説があるように、サイマリには���トーリーとキャラクターが存在し、漫画やアニメの中でそれぞれのキャラが心情を歌う、そんなイメージだったと思う。しかし、この壮大すぎるビジョンが、次第に壁となって立ちはだかることになる。

This marked our first collaboration with PERO PERO CANDY, and it later led to us creating an emote for Fortnite together.
I have a strong feeling that this kind of team is gradually becoming the foundation of Cyber Marionette.

⭐️08⭐️Paramount loved CyMari’s works and sent us an additional order!✨The next mission is producing J-Pop, K-Pop, and C-Pop. The reference tracks are songs from artists currently shaping trends in their respective countries across Asia. This really reinforced my understanding of the importance of having your name and work show up in a client’s research. If you wanna go global, the fastest route would be first securing a solid fanbase in your home country.
