@Catlover10000S It’s interesting that this becomes the inciting incident for Luke to “cross the first threshold” of his heroes journey after initially “refusing the call” from Obi-Wan and Leia.
@Catlover10000S Owen and Beru are two “salt of the Earth” characters who live a humble agrarian life and try to do the right thing but are ultimately cut down in the crossfire between Imperial intergalactic fascist politics and new age Jedi mysticism.
@bobafettyaoi@Kerrcarr01 1313 Boba Fett is an interesting concept. You can see the elements of the Jango costume design along with the gadgets, utility features that ultimately evolve into the Joe Johnston and ESB Boba Fett design.
@TarantinoWorld It’s a great script, it’s interesting to see Tarantino’s screenplay directed by Tony Scott. I think it capitalizes on both of their relative strengths and made for a really great movie to watch. I always liked Clarence… and I always will.
@TatooineSons That was a nice moment! I really enjoyed Ewan MacGregor and Joel Edgerton’s performances in this series and for me it was interesting to see how both of their characters were dealing with grief and their responsibilities towards Luke in the show. That was interesting to see.
@feltwelt78 I agree with Lucas in spirit, but it’s more akin to “It’s like painting your house white, then charging people admission to see it, then someone says it should’ve been green.” The dichotomy between fans being so invested in SW that they feel like part “owners” was always there.
@KevinLamb74 Wow. I never realized that but it’s completely explained in the exposition dialogue between Rogue squadron. It also explains the WW2 style anti-aircraft cannon emplacements in some of the shots. Thanks so much for pointing that out!
@TatooineSons I was genuinely surprised for the Harrison Ford scene in TROS. In a movie full of odd choices this was a nice little father and son moment and IMO it was a nice final nod to Han Solo.
@thehex63 AOTC is an incredible technical achievement because it’s one of the first mainstream movies to be shot 100% digitally. IMO it’s a mixed bag some of things that work incredibly well and some things that don’t but kudos to Lucas for continuing to innovate in Ep 2 and set up Ep 3!
@Tomi_Tapio@Authw8 LOL yeah… MCU probably could have and should have pivoted to “all new” X-Men once Endgame finished because there are a ton of stories left to tell there but it may have been an rights issue with Sony similar to Spider-Man.
@John_Welborn20@TatooineSons Yeah… I’d have actually liked more exploration around Luke/Rey/Kylo and less of the casino storyline or slow speed spaceship chase. I give Rian Johnson credit for trying different things and I remain a big fan of his other films, TLJ just didn’t work for me.
@Authw8 I think this is one of the reasons I hate hearing films referred to as “franchises”. Franchises are great for selling cheeseburgers but for a creative endeavor giving people “more of the same…but different” is maybe not the best way to endeavor creatively?
@AvatarKyber I truly don’t get the debate over TLJ. It may be the first “postmodern” Star Wars because it seems to mean whatever the fans want it to mean & resonate with, which is fine, I get that. But sharing your fav SW should be like sharing a fav ice cream flavor, not a rigorous argument.
@TatooineSons I think “argumentative” might be a better word rather than aggressive. I’m fine agreeing to disagree because at the end of the day it’s just a movie and I was genuinely curious to hear more of your thoughts. Best of luck with the content! MYFBWY
@TatooineSons I engage in the conversation because I enjoy talking about Star Wars and I am always trying to understand where fans are coming from. That said, I’m just very curious that the premise of your channel seems to be “TLJ is a masterpiece” and that you have such an aggressive stance.
