Seeing these guys walk across the stage and into their future is one of the greatest feelings a coach can have. Congrats @_Derricksmith1@masonmcnany4 JaLon, Martin, Eduardo and Xavier…own the moment fellas and take the world by the horns!
On Friday, I was released without cause or reason as the AD, all athletic responsibilities and subsequently informed that I will be returning to the classroom for the 24-25 school year. In this business, it sometimes is the nature of the beast. There is no fair in life and I’m not the one to try and speculate why people make the decisions they make. The late Ken Ravizza said “control the controllables”, the rest will take care of itself. I’ll be fine……Focusing on the positive accomplishments on and off the field over the last 3 years. The Panthers posted a 32-7 record in league, 49-31 overall record, 3 straight CIF playoff appearances, a conference player of the year, a Dale Lackey Scholarship award recipient, having the program play at Raley Field and the school’s first league title in 27 years. Moving forward, I’ve been so fortunate to work with such a great staff of coaches, highly passionate parents who helped transform the program, former coaches(Riley & Harris) and alumni(@BestSpeedAllday who offered advice and encouragement, and the greatest group of ball players a coach could ever be blessed with to coach. In this chapter of my life, I’ll always look back with a smile on my face knowing that these young men gave it their all and accomplished so much. I was just lucky enough to be around and watch them do it. @WCPSacramento@PremierPrepsNMP@SacBee_JoeD@deric_quigley
