Lost all interest in football because of what’s going on with City.
My weekends would usually be filled with watching as many live PL games as possible, but now have absolutely no desire to watch any apart from City.
@GarySmithJnr How would Brighton be able to win the league or any title if teams with oil states backing them could spend 500 million every transfer period? Brighton aren't that rich
This is exactly why theyve done all these investments. It's financial blackmail. The UK government have gotten into bed with criminals and now they think they can do anything they want to with impunity
**EXCLUSIVE**
Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak met a senior UK government minister to discuss the UAE’s investments in Britain just days before the club’s guilty verdicts were announced.
Al Mubarak asked to meet Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds on 14 September in his capacity as CEO of Mubadala Investment Company, the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund, sources tell Bloomberg.
The pair held a private meeting in Downing Street on that date, the people said. Al Mubarak talked about current and future UAE investment in Britain, they said.
The conversation covered the full range of the relationship including defence, security, intelligence and trade, they said.
Eleven days later, on 25 September, the Athletic reported Man City had been found guilty of breaking Premier League rules.
On 29 September, the Premier League confirmed Manchester City had been found guilty of artificially boosting its balance sheet by more than £900 million.
The fact of the meeting so close to the verdict will raise further questions about the UK government’s handling of the case.
Andy Burnham has faced criticism, including from his own ministers and officials, after he publicly suggested Man City’s Abu Dhabi owners should not be disqualified from running the club because of the investment they bring to Britain.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Emirati officials have warned the UK government that the severity of the ruling could undermine their appetite for future grand-scale commitments in Britain.

I simply don’t believe Manchester United and Arsenal have a divine mandate to rule the sport forever because they chanced into getting bankrolled by the wealthy a century before City
People are genuinely clueless if they think Man City is getting punished when the club is already far bigger than the Premier League and the reality is this whole case is just a geopolitical war between the UK government and the UAE over trade investments
How about investing in your infrastructure and slowly building your club up over time? Why do you all think success should just happen over night? United's success did not happen over night and neither did Liverpool's it takes years!
Newcastle and Villa should be asking the same question City did:
How the fuck are we supposed to catch clubs with decades of built-up revenue if spending power is tied to the revenue gap we’re trying to close?
That isn’t a ladder.
That’s a locked door.
And to the Manchester United fans.
You could not call out your owners who extracted money and have put your club in perpetual debt. You stayed mute on wasted transfer windows and a leaking stadium. You ignored the deeper structural and organisational issues at your club.
But you erupt when Manchester City fans choose loyalty to owners in the wake of 115 stories. Owners that poured investment into the club and the local area and gave supporters the finest era of their lives.
The hypocrisy of football fans.
Match going Man City fans will be laughing their head off at all this, seen em win everything countless times, you can't take that away from the people who saw it. Will probably want to go to League 2 for some new aways 🤣
