4/ Make it quality!
Develop your skills as a writer, composer and producer, and invest in tools/people to ensure tracks are recorded and mixed well. This is essential!
Also, sample-free music is easier to clear.
5/ Showcase your music.
To get a placement, your music needs to get in front of the right people. We work with partners to share sync opportunities directly with el3ment members.
Make sure your profile is updated with new samples of work, links to music, and experience.
3/ Rights + ownership.
Maintain rights to your music! Know your other rightsholders, and have one-stop agreements in place whenever possible, so music is easy to clear.
2/ Build your catalog.
Have songs that fit various moods, genres, and styles. This gives you a broad range to pitch for different projects and opportunities.
Covers are great, but put your own spin on it so it sounds unique.
1/ Keep it simple.
Lyrics that are too specific make it harder to place, since they have to fit a specific scene. Try to write lyrics that relate to common human emotions and experiences while keeping it general.
With #SagAftraStrike, this would be a good time to learn the difference between music for TV and music for Ads. TV placements may slow down but not Ads imo. So if your focus has been reality show/ production music, this is a good time to learn about another sync lane
