Miami got to play in the national title game because it played in -- and won -- a premier noncon matchup. You may have forgotten that. It was six weeks ago.
“Almost exactly a year ago I made the decision to come to this university”
Carson Beck talks about his journey transferring from Georgia to @CanesFootball and reaching the National Championship 🏆
To think Miami, which can play with anyone, wouldn't be in this if BYU wasn't beaten soundly and Canes weren't put "back to back" with ND because committee couldn't compare them otherwise and they were fibbing about the whole quadrant thing
The problem with the CFP selections this year was the FORCED inclusion of two G5 programs, Tulane and JMU, which don’t belong in the 2025 CFP. Simple as that.
The ACC does permanent damage to Notre Dame by winning against them on the field to earn a playoff spot.
The audacity of Miami to actually win a game against Notre Dame. How dare they win a game against Notre Dame.
ND scolding the ACC for advocating for Miami - an actual member - while ND insists on independence, signs ACC settlements, and negotiates CFP carveouts is extraordinary. In law, we’d call that wanting the benefit of the bargain without the burden of the contract. Funny how contract freedom becomes contract outrage the moment the consequences arrives.
Pete Bevacqua is a smart guy and I get his frustration but to point the finger at the ACC is crazy. They didn’t randomly choose to single out ND. They played a game vs each other! And because the committee chose NOT to compare them, the ACC had no choice but to focus on it.
@DelaneyDrugs@NicoleAuerbach The ACC also highlighted the common-opponent data point of Florida State against Alabama.
In any sport, the strongest, easiest and most conclusive argument is always who won the game.
@1dayatatime1009@NicoleAuerbach Notre Dame can’t have it both ways. It isn’t an ACC football member. The school and the conference have a scheduling agreement. Conference membership and independence both have pros and cons.
