@Nigelrefowens@babsiboovintage Honest discussion? Maybe that’s a good starting point for yourself Nigel. On the accusations of being emotional, that’s a tired tactic, people see thru that ad hominem fallacy.
You retweet quite a lot of emotional & divisive content yourself. Always best to start close to home.
most read environmental story in The Guardian: Patrick Barkham’s coverage of the #NetworkRail saga about how thousands are people are calling for swift nesting sites to be unblocked‼️email the CEO of Network Rail asking him to unblock the nests [email protected]
Why the silence on this @networkrail? In the face of increasing public anger? These birds will have travelled around 14,000 miles when they return to their nesting holes - only to find them blocked up. Nature is increasingly squeezed into ever-shrinking spaces, forced to fit around our sprawling network of transport and housing and commerce. Please act NOW to rectify your thoughtless actions!

For my Irish compadres:
On December 17th your public representatives will likely choose not to ban fox hunting.
Almost 8 out of every 10 people across Ireland have chosen to ban fox hunting.
With current polling at:
24% Sinn Féin
20% Fianna Fáil
17% Fine Gael
8% Social Democrats
5% Labour
5% Aontú
5% Independent Ireland
3% PBP-Solidarity
2% Green Party
Ask yourself why any of these political organisations would ignore the will of the vast majority of their constituents.
None of them are in a position to do so.
So why?
It is politically and morally obscene not to ban the terrorising of a native wild creature.
Don’t you think?

@vpn@CarlowWeather Habitat destruction, man made climate change, overexploitation of animals & decimation of our biodiversity but still we emit 11 tonnes of CO2 per person every year here… & now, we complain our drains aren’t big enough for the flood. The Anthropocentric delusion continues.

@WriterHannahBT This anthropocentric view is the core of all our problems. We delude ourselves into thinking other species don’t merit the same equality & respect. We need a shift in consciousness here. We are inextricably connected to nature too.
@WriterHannahBT Keep going, you’ve created the important conversation & you’ve broken through in so many ways. So many more people are aware of this important & urgent problem for Swifts. Yourself & Zach’s work is phenomenal. ❤️
Sorry Heather — politics aside, if you can’t clearly condemn an innocent animal being ripped apart, you won’t get my vote. As always, feel free to share & follow! #thebiginterview#HeatherHumphreys#aras2025
