In the famous words of Andrew McCutchen: โFurriesโ
Cutch hammered his first home run as a member of the Texas Rangers yesterday, powering the Rangers to an 8-3 victory over Philadelphia, and the timing couldnโt have been more fitting. More than 1,300 miles away, the annual Texas Furry Fiesta was underway at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel.
McCutchen famously tweeted โFurriesโ, with no further context, during the 2014 season, a year after his NL MVP campaign. Since then, the 39-year-old has made it a tradition to post the singular word whenever Anthrocon, the worldโs largest furry convention, takes place in Pittsburgh.
Over the years, Cutch has become known for summoning โthe power of furriesโ when playing in Pittsburgh while the convention is in town. Since that first tweet, he has hit .355 with a 1.161 OPS, 33 hits, and 4 home runs across 22 games in those circumstances.
It appears that, even 1,300 miles from the Texas Furry Fiesta, the furry powers still found their way to Cutch, as he posted a .444 average and a 1.444 OPS, with a home run and 4 RBI this opening weekend in Philadelphia.
Furries.

@TheFaithSheriff So if a gay person went and taught kids on Fortnite what gay people are and tried to make them gay (extremely unrealistic) how would you feel? Just curious
