Tonight I heard Erika Kirk speak for the first time since her husband’s assassination.

In my 45 years on this earth, 30 of them spent truly listening, discerning, and cherishing the power of words, I have never experienced anything like this.

It wasn’t merely a statement. It was a holy current. A presence. Charlie’s own spirit seemed to weave itself through her voice, as if heaven had chosen her lips to finish what he began.

She didn’t just speak about him. She spoke with him. And in that moment, the veil between here and eternity felt thinner than I’ve ever known.

I am forever changed. What she gave tonight was more than courage, more than remembrance. It was holiness clothed in human grief. It was God taking ashes and turning them into light.

And as I stand in awe, I also stand in gratitude, for the gift of faith, for the calling of a devout Christian, for the honor of being a child of God, for the duty of a patriot and veteran, and for the blessing of being an American.
