We have delved into special places in our summer RE topic. We have looked Christian’s special place of worship and took some time to explore the features of a church. The children then designed their own stained glass window. ⛪️ #WWPARE
Today we discussed what makes somebody trustworthy to us and what could cause our trust to become broken. The children then discussed people from their family, school community and wider community to determine who they would include in their circle of trust. #WWPAPSHE
Hummingbirds loved their Computing lesson today which involved processing data and information and involved a lot of guessing games using only yes or no questioning. #WWPAComputing

The children enjoyed sequencing our story The Bear and the Piano before retelling this wonderful story using fronted adverbials and expanded noun phrases. 🐻 🎹
Well done to all of the Hummingbirds that took part in our Whiston Willis boiled egg competition. You all made it a very tough call for the judges to pick 1st, 2nd and 3rd place because of how fantastic the entries were! Well done to these three egg-select children! 🐣🪺🥚
To finish off our Geography topic, we looked at the similarities and differences between our school and Khulasizwe Primary school in South Africa. The children then tried on traditional clothing from South Africa. #WWPAGeography 🇿🇦 🇬🇧
All of the adults loved the WBD books too. Thank you for letting me ‘pap’ you; I think we can agree that it is easier to agree! Happy reading @whistonwillis1 @MrsPender1

We completed session 2 of our road safety today. The children learnt about and discussed the importance of choosing the safest and quickest route to cross a junction. 🚗
Today the children grouped photographs of South Africa and England in different ways. We had ‘water & non-water’, ‘buildings & non-buildings’. The children realised images of cars would fit in neither so we discussed grouping by human and physical features. #WWPAGeography 🌎
Hummingbirds picked up where they left off last half term with safe searching in computing. They explored how to effectively and safely use a popular search engine to complete research. #WWPAComputing
We put on our researcher’s caps today to dive deeper into what water pollution is and the effects it has on our water, plants and wildlife. This research will support the children in writing their persuasive campaigns at the end of this writing cycle. 💧🌎 #WWPAEnglish
Hummingbirds enjoyed their visit from
Knowsley Road Safety today. They learned about what precautions to take to keep safe on the road side and in a car. 🚗

We started our new @theliteracytree text this week ‘We Are Water Protectors’. The children labelled different bodies of water and collated a bank of verbs to describe the movement of water. They also all pledged to become Earth Stewards and Water Protectors! 🌎💧#WWPAEnglish
We are water protectors! Today we began our new text thinking about the different bodies of water and movements they may make. We added these to our working wall and signed a pledge to help make the world a better place. @theliteracytree
