agents are useful when the work is already understood.
they are dangerous when the work is still ambiguous.
the gap is not in automation.
the gap is in definition.
who owns the decision?
what does good look like?
where does context live?
when should the system stop and ask?
most agent failures will not come from bad models.
they will come from unclear work.

AI agents are not the strategy.
They are the execution layer.
The real shift is what happens to human work around them:
- less time spent moving tasks forward,
- more time spent deciding what should move at all.

That means better judgement, clearer ownership, and tighter feedback loops.
The companies that win with agents will not be the ones with the most automations.
They will be the ones that know exactly where human judgement should stay in the loop.
