There was a part on that video where the king threatened to stop giving MaMyeni money, it immediately reminded me why generations of women fought so hard for the right to work, own property, earn their own income, and participate fully in society. Economic independence was never just about having a career or proving you “don’t need a man.” It was about dignity. It was about ensuring that no woman’s survival could ever be held hostage by a man’s wallet. Regardless of what happens between them, moments like these are a reminder of why financial independence will always matter.‼️‼️
Even if she recorded and released that video out of spite and vengeance as opposed to a cry for help, that’s fine. You don’t get to abuse people and still be entitled to privacy niphambene na nina?
Violence against women should never be hidden, regardless of who is committing it, whether it’s a President or a King.
Verbally abusing your wife can leave wounds that are just as real as physical abuse. Both are harmful, and both should be condemned.
The consequences of marrying a man who had the ambitions of being a leader but didn’t have the brains or abilities to pull it off, now they are dictators in their own homes with their families as their servants because that’s the only taste of power the world affords them🙂↔️
