This is very true.

Sometimes my woman asks me the typical “why do you love me”, and I just look at her and go.

“Cause you’re you”

I can point out any list of things that are attributes of you, but give me someone else with those exact attributes and I wouldn’t want them.

The closest I have come to explaining it, is that I fell in love with your soul.

That there is something…unique about you.

No, not something.

A million little somethings.

From the way you giggle when I feed you, to the little hops you do when we’re walking together, to the way your hand magically finds its way into mine everytime, or how you light up when I pat your head.

There’s no explanation I can give that will capture the “WHY” of why I choose you and only wanted to be chosen by you.

I jokingly say that’s why I never take good pictures of you.

Because I genuinely cannot see a bad picture when you’re the subject.

Anyway, it’s 1am and I’m writing poem on Twitter when I should be pressing Claude Code.

Long and short, if you can perfectly explain why you love someone, you don’t love them.

You love the idea of them, and eventually, they will fail to meet that idea and you will resent them for it.
