Here in Ukraine, I met with the Commander of the Ukrainian SBU’s Alpha Unit— an elite combat and operations force representing less than 1% of Ukraine’s armed forces, yet doing 19% of the damage to Russia with daring missions like Operation Spiderweb.

He was one of the first commanders of Alpha’s first-ever combat unit, established in 2014, when it began fighting in the Donbas.

They said they’re open to working more with the US to help our soldiers learn drone warfare and adapt to modern combat.

If you’ve read stories about missions inside Russia’s borders that have done massive damage to Russia’s military and made them look over their shoulders across their empire, then you’re familiar with Alpha’s work.

I am in Ukraine to document how America benefits from Ukraine’s wartime experience, including Alpha’s by establishing durable capacity-building partnerships at the military, diplomatic, and political levels.

In the United States, we need to solve our worsening munitions crisis, create a bulwark against Russian aggression, prevent jihadi attacks against U.S. troops and our homeland, and we need to adopt the latest modern warfare techniques so the 21st century is defined by peace through strength — with America at the forefront. Ukraine is helping the US do this with new and upcoming drone partnerships and by committing to assisting with manufacturing drone facilities in the US that could create thousands of jobs for Americans.

Thank you to Alpha Command and the military leadership of Ukraine for allowing me to have these conversations to better understand how we can learn, adapt, and improve TOGETHER.

Ukrainische Drohnen haben heute Morgen die Stadt Koledino im Gebiet Moskau angegriffen.

➡️Anders als bei vorherigen Angriffen war die russische Flugabwehr sehr aktiv, was dazu führte, dass einige Drohnen mittels Raketen über der Stadt abgeschossen und andere versehentlich mittels EW in Wohnhäuser geleitet wurden.
