So much of my story—and Barack's—runs through the South Side of Chicago. We had so much fun going down memory lane with @People, sharing moments from the decades we've spent together, the opening of the Obama Presidential Center, and the work we still have left to do in our next chapter. We hope you'll check out the interview: https://t.co/N7HgrjrQRj
It was great joining Njideka Akunyili Crosby — a gifted Nigerian-born, Los Angeles-based artist — to unveil our first portrait together. This piece reflects so many chapters of Michelle and my story, and we’re thrilled that it will be on display in the Hope and Change lobby at the Obama Presidential Center starting this Juneteenth.
More than 40 years ago, I arrived in Chicago in search of an idea. I was a young man looking for purpose, who believed deeply in America, was inspired by the Civil Rights Movement, and wanted to be a part of something larger. The America I believed in was one where everyone has opportunity, everyone is seen, everyone belongs—because that was an America that had a place for me, too.
Barack: You told me all those years ago that you couldn’t promise me the world, but you could promise me an interesting life. Of course, you outdid yourself and managed to give me both.
Eight years in the crucible, and not once did you melt from the heat. Not once did you let it harden you. Instead, you used it to reveal your truest essence: your stubborn optimism and unflinching courage, your dazzling brilliance and unpretentious decency, your ferocious work ethic and absolutely unshakable moral fiber.
Dear beloved sports-loving Nigerian youths,
After watching the performances of Davido, Burna Boy, and Rema at the opening of the 2026 World Cup—at a time when Nigeria, the giant of Africa, is absent—I felt a measure of consolation. This was reinforced by the fact that many Nigerians playing for clubs worldwide are representing other countries. Felix Nmecha, for instance, set a record by scoring the fastest goal at six minutes for Germany. I write to you therefore, knowing that this country belongs to you, the youth.
You are more of stakeholders in Nigeria’s future than I am. I am 64 years old; by God’s grace, much of my journey is behind me, while yours lies ahead.
It is therefore imperative that you rise to the challenge by obtaining your PVC, your most powerful tool for driving the change you desire.
In the last three years alone, over 15 million Nigerians have turned 18—enough to decide who becomes President, Governor, Senator, Member of the House, or Local Government Chairman. Indeed, enough to shape the nation’s future.
I know many of you are sceptical about politics and political parties. I understand why, but scepticism must not become surrender.
You do not need to belong to any party or wait for anyone to organise you. Organise yourselves in your streets, campuses, communities, workplaces, churches, mosques, and social groups. Mobilise, debate, demand accountability, and take part in choosing those you wish to entrust with leadership.
If you are organised and wish to hear directly from me, invite me. I will come and share my plans for you and our nation.
Do not sit on the sidelines while others decide your future.
I appeal to you to register and vote. Your vote can shape who becomes the next President of our country.
My young friends, this is your country. Take it back.

She became paralysed after undergoing C-section . Mothers are really going through a lot to birth a child into this world . Praying for every pregnant woman out there for a safe delivery.
Your heart is the engine of your body. If you want to actually live longer, do these three simple things tonight:
1. Walk for 10 minutes after dinner. If you can't do 10, do at least 2.
2. Eat your dinner early and stop abusing salt and seasoning cubes.
3. Sleep before midnight. Your body needs those 7-9 hours to repair itself.
You can start today.
Deal?
Today is April 28!
This one is especially precious.
Born in the year 1963 that Nigeria became a Republic and today, I am 63!
Meaningful and memorable. Thank You, Lord!
I love You, Lord
Oh, Your mercy never failed me
And all my days, I've been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
All my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
I love Your voice
You have led me through the fire
In darkest night You are close like no other
I've known You as a Father
I've known You as a Friend
Oh, I have lived in the goodness of God, oh-oh-oh
And all my life You have been faithful
All my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
With my life laid down, I'm surrendered now
I give You everything
'Cause Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
Your goodness is running after, it's running after me
With my life laid down, I'm surrendered now
I give You everything
'Cause Your goodness is running, it keeps running after me! ✝️🙇🏾♀️🙇🏾♀️🙇🏾♀️🙇🏾♀️🙇🏾♀️💜💝😁

As you begin this new working week, may God bless the work of your hands, guide your decisions, and grant you strength for every task. May your efforts bear fruit, your paths be opened, and your hearts remain at peace. You shall walk in favor, wisdom, and grace this week. Amen🙏
Dear woman, cohabitation does not favour you in any way
You get the shorter end of the stick always
My parents have been married for over 30 years and they are still learning each other.
People are still constantly evolving and there is no such thing as getting to know someone before you marry them.
Even that person does not know who exactly they would be in 20 years. Marriage is about knowing the basics and who has the same fundamental values as you and trusting God and taking that leap
So all these things they say about knowing who you can live with and all that is rubbish.
It’s all a ploy to get benefits of marriage without actually committing to you
You’re not a car to be test run.
Any man that cannot respect you enough to do the needful and make an honest woman out of you does not deserve you.
You’re a person with intrinsic value that matured and grows and evolves over time and marriage is about learning each other, accepting and adjusting as you both grow.
A man puts you in a house that’s most likely his, so you don’t grow and have you own stuff, you’ll be there mostly likely cooking and cleaning and doing wifely duties, some will even get pregnant and have children,
and tomorrow he can wake up and decide that you’re not compatible.
You better wise up.
