On 4 December 1791, The Observer published its first newspaper. Our journey continues 234 years later with the launch of our digital edition. Last week we transformed the oldest Sunday newspaper in the UK into a seven-day operation across our website, app, and print, giving readers a little bit of Sunday every day of the week.
We have only been able to do this with the support of our current subscribers, so thank you for being part of this incredible and ongoing history.
For those yet to join us: the new Observer is here. Our award-winning journalism, podcasts, Nigel Slater recipes, puzzles (from the paper that invented the cryptic crossword) and much more are now available daily on our app and website.
