@Traveller_1991@carienimwa The problem of putting politicians as CS's.
The guy doesnt care anymore.
Cant trust him to effectively tackle health problems without politicking his decisions.

@Kinaraazvd@princegershom_ I have never understood why the roads are in this state especially in nairobi.
Kwani how much will it cost to just put basic road marking infrastructures?
Ama guys have gotten used to it they see it as a norm?!!
Baffling...
@Kalasinga_ Its impractical to have drivers do a test before licence renewal.
Even for as little as 30mins as you say.
Do you know how many drivers have a DL in Kenya?
Data is developing. There is a major building collapse every 2.5 months in Nairobi.
The major reported cases in 2026:
-2 January 2026. Multi-storey building under construction (reports of 12–16 floors) collapsed in the early morning in a pancake failure along Muhoho Avenue / Kiganjo Muhoho Avenue near South C Shopping Centre. At least two people killed. The project was registered but non-compliant with extra floors beyond the approved design; county authorities had previously flagged it for infractions. Developer linked to Abyan Consulting Limited. Later led to multiple prosecutions of officials and others.
-10 January 2026. Residential building under construction collapsed along Ngong View Lane in Karen (Lang’ata Sub-County, opposite Karen Community Church area). Two people killed and around seven injured. County attributed the failure to substandard materials (timber supports instead of steel props) and poor workmanship. Plans had been approved; questions raised about registration and supervision.
-11 February 2026. Building under construction (planned up to 10 floors) partially collapsed during foundation works early in the morning near OTC on Kirinyaga Road (junction with Racecourse Road). Six workers injured, no fatalities. All workers on site accounted for. NCA said the project was registered; failure linked to a temporary retaining wall/shoring during excavation, with possible contribution from inadequate support and traffic vibrations.
-16/17 October 2026. Former Club Avenida building (Nairobi Block 28/285) collapsed during planned nighttime demolition along Moi Avenue in the CBD near MKU Union Towers. Four workers injured (three treated at Kenyatta National Hospital), no fatalities. All 24 workers accounted for. Preliminary reports indicated supporting beams were cut, triggering the collapse during site preparation for redevelopment.
-23 October 2026. Multi-storey building under construction (reports of 10–18 floors) collapsed in the afternoon along 9th Street / Yusuf Haji Avenue in Eastleigh next to Day to Day Supermarket. Several people feared trapped. Rescue operations underway amid large crowds, reported looting of nearby shops, and police use of tear gas to clear access. Lower floors reportedly occupied despite ongoing construction. Cause still under investigation.
These are the major publicly reported structural failures this year. They cluster in January–February and again in October, with longer gaps in between. Officials, professional bodies and investigators have repeatedly pointed to non-compliance, substandard materials, weak oversight and, in some cases, allegations of corruption in the approval and inspection process. The Eastleigh incident is still developing.
