@itssynecdoche in my case it was ₹12500. The person “transferred” ₹10000 and then ₹25000 instead of ₹2500, which was very odd. Why would you first transfer the bigger amount to check, and then the balance amount? Only then I started doubting and called my dad to check if he knew this person

@itssynecdoche damn! the exact same scam happened with me two weeks ago. it was in the morning and I had just woken up, that I didn’t realise that the credit sms had come from a mobile no. and not a 5-digit no. I didn’t end up losing money, but at that moment it could’ve gone either way.
