@Agent25_ a few kind words from the side that is supposed to hate you can change some people's entire worldview, I've seen it happen personally, and small things like that are what is needed
I am going to try my best to make this my last tweet on this and then get off this hell of an app, but saying Kirk should not have been shot is not some performative moral stance, it is basic common sense
@Agent25_ this is true, however maybe im being a little naive in saying i want this situation to get better, maybe it will take decades but if we make no effort to find at least a common ground on something things will never change
@IllumiNoEyeGame ok now that its been a few days and the shooter is confirmed to be the usual right wing idiot, im curious if you still see this event the same way
@Agent25_ that's honestly the point i wanted to get across, i care less about if you're celebrating his death, I have my reservations about that but they don't really matter, I care more about people celebrating the event itself when it should be what we're trying to prevent
@IllumiNoEyeGame Kirk can rot for all I care, but I will not pretend to be okay with the idea that pure cold blooded violence is the only option we have left
@IllumiNoEyeGame this was just flat out murder done by someone whose ideals we dont even know, this was not some political act of justice to protect the weak. Comparing him to the likes of hitler is so disingenuous, a line has to be drawn somewhere
i could write more but honestly i’m here trying to explain why murder of someone with virtually 0 power is bad to people on the internet, and that alone should make me realize this is hopeless
anyway that’s it
“why should i have empathy for someone who doesn’t believe in it” anyone with a brain should be able to understand the flaw in that, but to spell it out that is not how empathy works, and no one is telling you to have empathy for him, you should have empathy for the situation
