The 7 yr old is working on an app that teaches kids programming and she’s alternating between exhuberant joy and murderous rage so yeah, I think she’s grasping the basics of writing code.
The United States was founded by men who owned slaves and didn't extend equal rights to women, so we can stop pretending all the documents they wrote are infallible.
This past week I led an innovation-focused design thinking workshop, the 3rd one since Feb., after a 2 year hiatus. The energy was palpable, and one otherwise stoic attendee used pipe cleaners to make and wear a faux monocle while he brainstormed. So. People are unpredictable.
Experience design #XD isn’t always digital! Best part of my job is talking w/ architects and planners about our physical spaces and mapping out opportunities. I get to be nerdy with data & behavioral psych all day. Work love. ❤️
@amsoell Who needs to sleep at a reasonable hour?? Time-zones, schmime-zones! Are you just visiting Thailand or did you move from Prague? (Please note my wistful wanderlust for both places…)

My office partner-in-crime and I had an afternoon strategy mtg and are repositioning our teams (experience #design and #data analytics) as AaaP…Airport as a Platform…and folding in #innovation for good measure. 2022 is looking good.
After a laborious internal process to even get our team ready for this, we're finally holding focus groups for user #research and - naturally - found that no one wants to sign up for yet another virtual meeting, even if it means getting to vent at us for free.
SAN has launched a @reciteme widget/toolbar that specializes in digital inclusion. The widget helps our website become more accessible for those with various needs including, but not limited to; disabilities, learning difficulties, visual impairments, or language barriers.
The nonstop British Airways flight between SAN and LHR is officially back! We were joined on the tarmac today by the British consulate to welcome the inaugural flight after a long COVID pause.

The new Terminal One for @sandiegoairport could start construction next month! 🙌🏽 This is exciting news that will create thousands of good local jobs and a dramatically improved experience for air travelers. ✈️ https://t.co/ro72ewjEHY
TFW you’re standing on the balcony checking out the storm, and the hair on your arms suddenly stands up as lightening hits the pole in the alley. Car alarms going off like mad. Tiny electrical flames on the pole connections. ⚡️ #coronado#sandiego#storm
@ZapThunder We’re designing an arts space in the new terminal that will have capacity for a mini theater! Awesome to hear it’s liked at other places, too. Airports can be such interesting spaces but most of the time they’re just utilitarian and outdated (in the US).
When designing a new airport terminal is part of my job, I get to do cool stuff like tour other airports at night to talk about lighting levels and wayfinding. I asked to see Charles De Gaulle, but LAX is good too. 😂
