In life, just put your best effort into everything you do because people are watching.
Leão probably couldn’t believe that no big club came for him when he announced he was leaving Milan. He probably thought the big clubs would be circling around him because of his “talent.”
He forgot that those clubs’ scouts had been watching his tapes at Milan. They saw how lazy he was at tracking back and helping the team. They saw his poor work application and his body language on the pitch.
Talent gets you noticed. Your habits, mentality and work ethic determine how far you go.
I heard someone say, satan got adam and eve to fix their eyes on one tree when god had already given them an entire garden, think about that. The enemy didn't have to convince them that they had nothing. He just had to make them forget everything that they already had. And he still, till this day, uses the same strategy. He gets us to focus on relationships we don't have, the job that we don't have, the opportunity we don't have, the healing we haven't seen yet. Meanwhile, we are blind to the countless prayers god has already answered. Gratitude isn't pretending you don't want more, it's refusing to let what you don't have make you forget the goodness of god that's already surrounding you.
My goat @gabimartinelli
I still remember the first time you signed for Arsenal. You were 18 and nobody I knew had heard of Ituano. Then you scored twice on your first start and it felt like Arsenal had found something special. After that came the Liverpool game in the League Cup. Five five. You scored two and Klopp called you the talent of the century. I watched that clip so many times.
Then Stamford Bridge. Ten men. You picked the ball up near our box and just ran. Sixty seven yards. You left their whole defence behind and finished it so calmly. That was the goal that made you ours. I still show it to people who ask why I love this club.
You won the FA Cup with us. You scored fifteen in that season when you and Odegaard carried the attack. Opening day at Palace. The late winner against Villa. Those runs down the left when it looked like nobody could catch you.
Last season you helped us win the league. Fifty three games. Eleven goals. Even when you were not starting every week you still showed up. Five Champions League games in a row with a goal. That finish at Club Brugge. Coming on and scoring after thirty six seconds. Then the hat trick at Portsmouth in January. Two headers. Your first ever hat trick. I was so happy for you that night.
Two hundred and seventy eight games. Sixty two goals. You grew up here. You gave us everything.
I am only a few years younger than you and watching you made me believe this team could actually be great again. Thank you for all of it. Thank you for the nights that felt huge. Thank you for never looking like you were going through the motions.
Go do your thing. We will always have those years. You will always be one of us.
Take care Gabi.
Just heard a guy say to a girl” you’re used to your face, you have no idea what it’s like to see it for the first time.”
I am 100% stealing that line and using it over and over again.
Dating is dead because everybody’s replaceable when someone new is one swipe away. People don’t fight for relationships anymore. They don’t work through problems, communicate through issues, or grow together through challenges. They just swipe, match, and move on to the next person when things get hard. That’s why nothing lasts and nobody feels secure.
