Here's the updated GGST mod commission sheet now that I've moved into my own place. Gonna be retiring the spreadsheet for now though I may make individual character sheets in the future.
@Maccaoiato It honestly feels like such a massive shift from the modding scene I'm used to, where a commission was kinda expected from the beginning to be private...
Try not to take the comments to the heart. You're always making bangers, and I find your sheer work ethic inspirational.
Took a massive mental health break from the internet for the first half of the year, but I'm back to the usual now that Lucy is dropping! Expect to see mods soon....
If I'm to work on anything in the coming year, it's achieving a better work/life balance with my commissions. 2023 was all work, no life. 2024 was all life, no work. I've had a silly amount of stuff get in the way of business in 2024, so it's my hope to bring things around.
Call me crazy but I don't think Sol and Ky should be anywhere near as buff as each other, nor should characters like Chipp or Zato be roided out to the extent they are. It's especially weird since on the male side of things, Asuka and Goldlewis exist.
Visual homogeny between character designs in regards to body type and face shape is an issue, exemplified more now that I'm so familiar with everyone's models from a modding (Strive) view. Strive especially gives everyone very pudgy and soft faces, so they all kinda blend in.
That doesn't make those who are happy with the current state of the game less valid, but to tear down others arguments because you're personally fine with the direction of the game is just conceited.
The day PM fans see criticism as coming from a place of wanting the game to be better, instead of tearing down "le precious indie studio" will be the day that fanbase becomes tolerable. You can like the game, love it even, while still wanting it to be more than it currently is.
@outis_ismyname It doesn't inspire a lot of confidence considering KJH said he wants to keep Limbus going for another 10 years, meanwhile stuff like the Distortion Detective game is definitely all but cancelled now since the current 37-ish people who work at PM can't develop both reasonably.
Limbus's community (and arguably PM's wider fandom) is one that has been founded on an almost toxic positivity for a while now. It's due in part to the amount of good will the company has built up, but that good will shouldn't be an excuse to deny any and all criticism.
I feel like Limbus is at a point rn where there's a lot of very valid and genuine concerns/criticisms for the game & its future.
But anyone who talks in depth about them is gonna be harrased by the community.
@outis_ismyname Doesn't mean these things are any less strong (Despite my qualms with KJH's method of just outright removing Railway's once their time has passed) when they come out, but it does contribute to a feeling of stagnation that the game has currently.
@outis_ismyname It doesn't really help that there's nothing really new gameplay wise in regards to modes that will really wow players anymore. We're past the point of Season 1 and 2 where things like Refraction Railway and Intervallos were these new, fun things instead of a guarantee.
@outis_ismyname Mhm
I just feel bad more than anything since I completely understanding the artistic vision and intent behind why he runs things the way he does, and it works wonderfully for games like LobCorp and Ruina, but in a live-service situation it's definitely rough.
@outis_ismyname That's not even getting into how rushed most updates come, with little playtesting (note pretty much every single MD update upon initial release.) and you can pretty clearly see that there's just not enough time nor strong enough planning to keep the live-service format working.
@outis_ismyname Because the issue with the game currently isn't a lack of quality in what it's pushing out story wise, but rather the insane amount of dead space between each Canto and Intervallo. Season 4 lasted 6 months yet a Canto story drop, the main bulk of a season, only lasts 3 weeks.
@outis_ismyname But rather focus on higher budget IDs (something that is only as interesting as the content they can be used in, otherwise a new flavor or the week for the bland roguelike mode) and advertisements, which admittedly higher budget and creative PVs like Hell's Chicken would be fun
@outis_ismyname Especially after in the first livestream he made it abundantly obvious that he would be able to run PM with no profit for the next 3 years. (I may be misremembering the exact quote)
And that's not even considering that the extra money won't be used to make the game itself better
I don't understand how people expect the game to change for the better when mediocrity is so frequently met with overwhelming praise and genuine criticisms for the game's lack of substantial content past Canto drops, creatively lackluster IDs, etc are all met with vitriol
