@CraigHope_DM Rice and Gordon didn't show because the players used the right wing more plus there were a few times Gordon was making great runs and Rice failed to see him or ignored him. Gordon was even fuming towards Rice.

I actually agree. They apparently already knew Liverpool's interest & they still messed around with the fee. So if we can't afford to just pay the release clause & get deals done quicker to save face then maybe we are looking at the wrong players.

A timeline of #NUFC incompetence

March: it was known to Newcastle bosses that Gordon was leaving Newcastle in the Summer. That is a fact.

1st May: Gordon in talks with other clubs

Late May: Gordon goes to Barcelona

Late May: Newcastle linked with Munoz

Early June: Newcastle enter the race to sign Zadok Yohanna but are beaten by Brighton who have already agreed a contract and done all the leg work to sign the young winger. They moved like a proper club.

Newcastle then waste valuable time negotiating the fee down from the release clause for 3 weeks to sign Munoz.

By the time we have a fee agreed Liverpool immediately pay the release fee and get the deal done within 24 HOURS!!!

This is what the Newcastle PR team aka “journalists” aren’t admitting when trying to spin this… yes we finally agreed a fee but because we delayed so much over a few million we allowed the big fish to come to the table and blew it.

We knew back in MARCH Gordon was going and yet we still dithered and completely fucked our main target.

This is not just as simple as he chose the bigger club - our incompetence allowed this situation to unfold.

Pay the release clause or find a player you can truly afford instead of making us look like amateurs.

£4.3m in add-ons. Why can't we just pay in full? The owners could have loaned the club £4.3m & got it done faster. So stop chasing players that we can't compete with. A release clause is a release clause, spent days negotiating for nothing.

🚨 Newcastle thought they had a deal in place for Victor Muñoz — before a late Liverpool hijack. 
✔️ 💰 Newcastle had a fee of £29m (+£4.3m) ACCEPTED by Osasuna and the player had AGREED personal terms and told #NUFC he wanted to sign. Agent fees were also agreed.
👨🏻‍⚕️ Newcastle had the wheels in motion for a medical over in the US and were on the verge of completing a deal.
😐 But they were instructed to wait over the last 24 hours by the player's representatives, and #LFC swooped.
🔴 Liverpool had always been at the table for Muñoz so they didn't come in last minute, but agreed £34.5m release clause (two instalments) and Muñoz chose Anfield.
🤷🏽‍♂️ Newcastle now trying to get to the bottom of what happened in the last 24 hours, but there was always top competition for the winger last few weeks.
