I'm looking to crowdsource some suggestions for a writing course I'm teaching.
Give me your favorite essay/s, new and/or old.
Some authors I'm already considering: W.E.B Du Bois, George Orwell, James Baldwin, Susan Sontag, Robin Kimmerer, Thomas King, Zadie Smith.
Well now that's cool.
Thanks to @CambridgeUP for these awesome physical copies of my new book.

I wonder the same re: ecological issues.
I remember that brief yet hopeful time when the lockdown reduced carbon emissions and the utopians among us (myself included) hoped it might give us a chance to reset.
Four years later, emissions have only ramped up.
Watched the first episode of #3BodyProblem and its... ok?
The book wasn't perfect either, but its surreal moments somehow felt more existentially terrifying, whereas the show feels corny by comparison.
On the one hand I am deeply concerned about AI and its power to exploit the hard work of artists and to inundate the internet with garbage.
On the other hand, it's also sublimely hilarious to see images like this suggested to me on FB with legions of devout bots commenting.
